Beauty. Brains. Athleticism. Nylah Boone embodies this trifecta of personal characteristics. The senior at Campbell High School is in the International Baccalaureate Program and has excelled there in every way. She has maintained a 3.89 GPA, while competing in varsity and AAU volleyball. She is also an active member in her church, Mount Paran Church, serves her local community, and even traveled to Bolivia for missionary work.
The oldest of three children, Nylah is often called upon to set a good example for her younger siblings and those she mentors at school and in her neighborhood. When she is not studying or practicing, Nylah loves traveling, reading, and singing. And she has a very unique skill…playing her ukulele!
Nylah was born in Virginia, but has made Cobb County and the Smyrna area her home with her family for the past 16 years. She credits her parents for emphasizing the importance of putting her best foot forward at all times. Unlike most teenagers, she carefully considers her words and shows a maturity far beyond her years. She is diligently working towards her goals in life with a spirit of inclusion, compassion, love, and respect.
Nylah speaks Spanish fluently and wants to leverage her bilingualism in college and beyond. Nylah plans to study Biological Basis of Behavior and minor in Spanish. Her goal is to do field work and research as a Behavioral Neurologist in the United States as well as in Spanish-speaking countries throughout the world.
With this impressive background, it is no surprise Nylah is four for four when it comes to college acceptances. So far, she has received acceptance letters from University of Georgia, Georgia Tech, Boston University, and University of Virginia. She is still awaiting decision letters from Georgetown, Columbia, Brown, and University of Pennsylvania.
Nylah’s goal is to use her skills, time and talents to make a difference in the lives of others around the world. With this impressive start, there is no doubt she will.
