The Shops at Belmont Come Alive 3

Long-awaited Smyrna development
offers unique treats

Food lovers, fashion fiends, and families alike will find it easy to enjoy Smyrna’s latest retail development. The Shops at Belmont boast Smyrna’s first roof-top sports bar, a swanky boutique for high-heel shoe lovers, and a groovy barbershop with roots in Berlin, Germany.

The eclectic offerings are mixed with neighborhood conveniences such as a dry cleaners and a nail salon, and medical services like Hearing Solutions. Four sit-down restaurants will anchor the Shops at Belmont, which is within walking distance of Smyrna Village Green, near Smyrna Elementary, and surrounded by new residential communities.

Steve West, Vice President of Development at Halpern Enterprises, says the retail center embraces the walkable, accessible environment that characterizes Smyrna’s urban redevelopment. The Shops are part of a 48-acre mixed-used development project built by Halpern, including a community of 153 new single family homes and a luxury apartment complex.

Creatwood Tavern & Rooftop Bar

From the creators of Whitehall Tavern, Creatwood Tavern is Smyrna’s first restaurant with a rooftop patio. Approximately half of the rooftop space is devoted to seating and dining, while the other half includes green space for games. In keeping with a sports bar vibe, 40 flat screen televisions adorn the upscale environment.

Co-owner Steve Shamatta describes the restaurant as a “family friendly sports tavern.” Picnic style seating will be available on the rooftop, and the tavern plans to occasionally screen movies the whole family can enjoy. The menu consists of upscale tavern fare, with 12 beers on tap, and 60 other beer varieties available.

Several other restaurants are open now or will be opening soon including Cielo, a Mexican restaurant; Torta Di Napoli, an Italian restaurant; and Greek Village Taverna, a Greek Mediterranean restaurant.

Ms Heel Boutique

“When you walk through the doors, you are entering the Ms. Heel world,” says former runway model and Miss Heel owner, Velicia Hill. Sexiness and attitude characterize the selection of high heel shoes and accessories. A drink bar and personal shopping assistant add a touch of glamour. While the experience is upscale, Hill says prices start at $50 to ensure a variety of budgets find the perfect fit.

Ms. Heel Boutique is Atlanta’s only boutique specializing in high heels only. They do also carry hosiery, accessories, and handbags.

N’Style Barbershop

N’Style specializes in traditional haircuts, complete with hot-leather neck shave and steam towel massage. Prices start as low as $20, making it an affordable luxurious experience. A variety of other grooming services are also offered. Owner Vanessa Hill, originally from Berlin, Germany, is proud of her multi-cultural staff who are experienced in providing haircuts for a diverse cross-section of customers. Focusing on quality, efficiency, and professionalism, N’Style Barbershop can provide the barber and grooming needs for boys and men of all ages, races, and hair styles.
